and WEEE Directive Compliance
Elgar Electronics Corporation (EEC) is committed to protecting the environment and the health and safety of our employees, our customers and the general public. EEC is committed to compliance with all applicable governmental regulations as well as EEC internal environmental, health, and safety requirements. EEC strives to identify and eliminate negative impacts associated with our facilities, activities, services, and products.
With respect to the European Union Directive 2002/96/EC (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Elgar equipment is compliant with the directive and marked appropriately.
With respect to the European Union Directive 2002/95/EC (Restriction of Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS)), Elgar equipment is classified under WEEE Directive, Annex 1A, Category 9 “Monitoring and Control Instruments”, and is therefore, in accordance with Article 2, paragraph 1 of the RoHS directive, currently exempt from compliance to the RoHS directive.
